Red Sox's Garrett Whitlock continues to make Yankees look silly
You know the story by now: the Boston Red Sox selected New York Yankees prospect Garrett Whitlock in December’s Rule 5 Draft, with the right-hander on the mend from Tommy John surgery. Since then, the 25-year-old who had never pitched above Double-A can do no wrong, proving to be a valuable bullpen piece for the Red Sox. On Monday, Whitlock picked up the win in an 8-4 victory over the Texas Rangers, pitching 2.2 innings without giving up an earned run, lowering his ERA for the season to 1.62.
