If I were to tell you at the beginning of this season that the Red Sox would more or less control their own destiny, in regards to a playoff spot, heading into the last six games of the year I think you’d be pretty happy with that. This team was expected to start contending next year, but has arrived a little earlier than expected. When we realized this team was pretty good, there was a shift in expectations.
