Previously, Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts has said he preferred not to negotiate a contract extension with a team in the middle of the season. But in a recent interview with Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe, Bogaerts seemed to shift his stance a little, noting that he’d be open to the possibility if Red Sox brass wanted to discuss a deal with his agent, Scott Boras. I don’t know how this would work.
