For a change Red Sox turn in some brilliant field plays to help earn sweep of Yankees

Since the start of the season, the Red Sox have struggled defensively. Manager Alex Cora has addressed the issue head-on, acknowledging, on more than one occasion, the team has been guilty of some shoddy play in the field. “They hit some balls hard,” said Cora of the Yankees, “and we made some great plays.” In the second inning, shortstop Pablo Reyes somehow made a stab of a hard liner off the bat of Oswaldo Cabrera, robbing him of a hit at the edge of the outfield grass with a well-timed leaping catch.
