McAdam: MLB Notebook - Tracking fallout of trade deadline for Red Sox and Chaim Bloom

If Chaim Bloom was worried about his own job security at the recent trade deadline, he sure hid it well. You might think that someone concerned about whether they would stay employed would have acted far differently than Bloom did. Bloom could then remind ownership that he had reached the postseason twice in four years, and one of the years in which he missed was the pandemic-shortened season of 2020, an aberration of sorts. There was no desperation to his actions, no urgency to make a move and demonstrate that he was doing everything in his power to get the Sox across the finish line.
